Laboratory Orchestration Product Manager
Site Name: Durham Blackwell Street, UK - Hertfordshire - Stevenage Posted Date: Feb 3 2025 The Lab Orchestration Product Manager partners with global quality and cross-functional GSK departments to enhance local capabilities and derive substantial value from both existing and cutting-edge lab orchestration technologies. This position is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability, security, and compliance of all lab orchestration systems in accordance with GSK standards. The role involves managing internal and external technology providers to meet established service levels and overseeing the implementation of foundational, advanced, and digital lab solutions to improve service, cost, and quality metrics. Additionally, the Product Manager works closely with other GSK functions to maintain security and compliance and drives the adoption and integration of lab orchestration and related data and analytics capabilities to foster performance improvements, collaborating with local lab and global quality teams to deliver enhanced value. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the product roadmap for lab orchestration solutions, aligning with GSK’s strategic objectives and priorities. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize product requirements, ensuring that the solutions meet the needs of the users and the business as well as Tech and Security Lead the design, development, and deployment of lab orchestration products, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the lab orchestration space. Define the strategy for lab orchestration, including the selection and integration of laboratory middleware applications e.g. LabX. Ensure that the orchestration strategy aligns with the broader GSK vision and objectives, setting the stage for future growth and development within the organization Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of lab orchestration products. Work closely with the Manufacturing, R&D and Tech teams to integrate lab orchestration solutions with existing systems and platforms. Define training and support requirements to ensure effective adoption and utilization of lab orchestration products. Manage the product lifecycle, including product enhancements, updates, and decommissioning, as needed. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to lab orchestration and laboratory informatics. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Graduate in science, engineering, computing or similar level vocational qualification in technical discipline Experience as a Product Manager in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or similar quality critical industry, with a focus on laboratory informatics or lab orchestration. Understanding of laboratory workflows, processes, and technologies as well as technical skills related to IT / OT, connectivity, edge and cloud Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., Data Integrity, GxP, FDA, EMA) related to laboratory operations and informatics. Understanding of financial principles and metrics, including CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) and OPEX (Operational Expenditure) Experience in engaging and influencing key stakeholders, including senior management, finance, and operational teams, to gain support and approval for funding proposals Preferred Qualifications/Experience: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Graduate in science, engineering, computing or similar level vocational qualification in technical discipline Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to translate technical solutions into business benefits and justify investments. Ability to create detailed financial models and forecasts to support funding requests. Experience in identifying and pursuing various funding sources and strategies to secure necessary resources for project implementation.
