The Transportation Operations Management (TOM) Labor Planning team needs leaders like you to deliver the future of labor planning for our Transportation Operations network. Our team is responsible for making sure all North American full service and supported sites are set up for success while also reducing cost savings. You’ll be specifically assigned to a region in which you’ll be the primary contact for all things TOM Labor Planning.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead meetings with regional and nodal TOM Operations leaders and planning partners to complete weekly labor plans and understand gaps in performance
• Build and execute Transportation Labor plans on a weekly basis using existing labor planning tools and help innovate with future tools
• Create and generate reports which includes maintaining, updating, and expanding labor reporting on a daily and weekly basis
• Gather and analyze data across business functions to establish global standards for transportation labor plan inputs and work with partners to communicate those standards as best practices to the organization
• Reviewing weekly assumption inputs to ensure the Labor Model accurately forecasts labor hours needed to meet operational demands
A day in the life
• Analyze daily/weekly labor reporting and work closely with site leaders to bridge any misses, understand causes, and identify solutions.
• Lead twice-weekly regional labor plan review calls to help Operations leaders understand their site-level inputs to the labor model, as well as driving TOM LP key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Work closely with the Recruiting team to ensure sites and recruiters are tracking to the needed total quarterly headcount targets.
• Provide written summaries of labor bridges for review by Operations leaders during weekly and monthly business reviews.
• Work with Field Leaders on deep dives to help drive improvement on KPIs to meet Labor Planning and OP2 goals.
About the team
The North America Transportation Operations Management (TOM) Labor Planning team owns the delivery of the short and long term labor plans for the NA TOM network. We work closely with field and program partners to ensure our sites are staffed with the right number of associates to safely and efficiently run our yards and support the Amazon fulfillment network.
TOM Labor Planning Analysts are the primary labor contact to help regional and nodal Operations leaders understand their labor plan and to support site leaders in managing their labor efficiently.
