Position Summary: This position is within the Fisher BioServices business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Laboratory Technician will assist in manual and automated laboratory processing of biological materials, including aliquoting and sample preparation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares aliquots of samples and other laboratory procedures
Communicates with supervisor about any sample discrepancies found, and aids in resolving them.
Receives, processes, and stores biological specimens using a variety of database applications.

Requires knowledge of handling of infectious substances.
Requires knowledge of good aseptic technique.
Requires flexibility to handle multiple tasks at one time.
Must have and be able to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Prefers experience with temperature sensitive materials.
Prefers knowledge of LIMS and Good Laboratory Practices.
Prefers experience with DNA and/or RNA extraction.
Prefers experience working with human blood and blood products.
Education
HS Diploma or GED required.Benefits

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $17.89–$25.25.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
