Lab Technician

Alarm.com, is seeking a Lab Technician to support our operations support quality team. The role will have the responsibility to design, build, and support complex testing fixtures while also maintaining and supporting our automation and product testing Labs.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and build test fixtures to support the testing and troubleshooting of supported Alarm.com devices Support Engineering in building and setup Security Panels, Smart Home, and Video set-ups Support Quality Engineering in building out our Automation and Manual testing labs, and general lab maintenance Plan, prioritize, and communicate status of work activities Provide support to Development and Quality Engineering through participation in the continuous improvement effort and promotion of a "Quality First" mentality Ensuring a safe lab environment and safe handling of power and manual tools Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Attention to detail and safety procedures Ability to be in office 5 days per week.   Knowledge of soldering and reworking board components Can safely use basic shop tools: Drill, metal files, metal cutters, heat gun, screw hole taps Knowledge of Operating Systems (Mac, Windows) Experience wiring electrical fixtures and running cables Experience racking and stacking hardware in a lab Experience with DHCP, DNS, and basic WiFi configuration Experience debugging general electrical issues Familiarity with OR ability to learn panel assembly, setup, and programming Familiarity with OR ability to learn basic Raspberry Pi applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2-3 years relevant experience Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience Experience using Jira, Microsoft Suite, and Confluence Knowledge of security devices such as panels, access control, locks, video cameras, etc.
