Lab Technician
Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to perform daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods and procedures. You will be responsible for testing and analyzing samples to determine characteristics such as strength, stability, and chemical content. This role involves preparing chemical solutions, assisting in microbiology testing projects, and following established company policies and procedures. Responsibilities + Perform daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods and procedures. + Test and analyze samples to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics. + Prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas and experimental procedures. + Assist in laboratory projects related to microbiology testing. + Set up lab equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control under general supervision. + Produce test investigation reports for any out-of-specification test results. + Document results of tests and analyses. + Maintain laboratory equipment through daily cleaning and consistent preventive maintenance. + Ensure the cleanliness of the work environment. + Work on semi-routine assignments with occasional need for deviation from accepted practice. + Escalate issues to the supervisor for resolution as necessary. + Follow all company policies. + Assist with various projects. Essential Skills + Experience in laboratory settings (academic experience is satisfactory). + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology (college students may also be considered). + Experience with instruments such as Atomic Absorption (AA) instruments and ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) Spectroscopy (academic experience is satisfactory). + Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) (preferred). + Experience in Quality Control (QC) for raw materials and finished products. + Knowledge in both chemistry (90% of the time) and microbiology (10% of the time). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to perform titrations and pass color acuity tests. + Skills in pipetting, viscosity measurement, and wet chemistry. Work Environment This position will spend most of the time in the lab, working the 3rd shift from 9pm to 5:30am. You will work with various lab equipment and instrumentation, ensuring precision, accuracy, and quality of work product. The environment requires adherence to cleanliness and consistent preventive maintenance practices. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.15 - $24.15/hr.
