Lab Technician

We have an opportunity for a Lab Technician to join our New Brighton, MN team. You will use hand and power tools to assemble all components of pumps per bill of material, test the assembly to documented specifications and properly package the product. 

You will:

Set up and perform tests and prototypes without supervision.Confers with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication problems relating to specifications and to review test plans such as types and cycles of tests, conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of tests.Performs testing of various fluid delivery assembliesExecutes simple fabrication of parts for test apparatus.Examines parts for conformance with dimensional specifications or work with Q A. to perform function.Coordinates and participates in installing unit or system to be tested in test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments.Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test item to successive steps in test cycle.Maintain, troubleshoot and command several custom computer programs for test equipmentMonitor tests and test controls and instruments.Records test data manually, with Data Acquisition, or by specific software manipulation analysis  equipment for engineer's use.Perform maintenance, failure diagnosis, and troubleshooting of test fixtures and of items being tested.Compose and properly file test reports upon completion of tests.

Key Qualifications: 

Fluid Power (Hydraulics) associate’s degree (A.A.S.) from a technical school, and no related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Mechanically inclinedTraining or experience with pumps, hydraulics, data acquisition or data loggers.Experience with PLC systemsMust be proficient in Word and Excel software.Experience of injection molding, metal cutting and assembly processesExperience with nozzle testing and analysis

Compensation:

The hourly pay for this role is: $38.00 to $40.00/hr. DOE. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
