Lab Technician - Contract - Social Circle, GA

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and skilled Laboratory Technician. This is a contract role located in Social Circle, GA.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Lab Technician will be responsible for maintaining and operating laboratory equipment, including autoclaves and glasswashers, and preparing materials for sterilization. They will ensure the cleanliness and functionality of temperature-controlled units and stock departmental consumables. Effective communication, adherence to safety procedures, and proficiency with laboratory instruments and computer applications are essential for this role.

Skills & Requirements:

Must communicate effectively (verbal and written) with supervisors and peers.Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures.Proficiency with most laboratory equipment, including but not limited to autoclaves, incubators, and analytical instruments.Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to identify when proper practices and procedures are not followed.Experience following SOPs and generating accurate results.Ability to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning and to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body.Will work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, and buffers, which may require respiratory protection.The position involves a combination of sedentary work, standing work, and walking around to observe facility conditions.

The Lab Technician will:

Clean laboratory glassware and equipment.Prepare materials for sterilization using the QC Laboratory Autoclave.Operate and maintain QC equipment, including autoclaves and glasswashers.Maintain and stock departmental consumables.Verify and document operating parameters of temperature-controlled units.Clean and maintain temperature-controlled units routinely.Set up and disinfect media, supplies, and equipment needed for testing.Perform sampling of critical utility systems, such as water, air, and alcohol.Conduct non-batch release testing, including raw materials and environmental monitoring.Retrieve and receive samples into the QC Laboratory, logging them into LIMS and other systems as needed.
