We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our growing team of technicians and engineers supporting both R&D for new product development as well as ongoing quality testing for batch and lot conformance. Our technicians are vital to ensuring our products meet the highest standards.
Parker OES manufactures a wide variety of o-rings and seals for several markets, including automotive, military and aerospace, and life sciences. Parker Hannifin is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies. For more than a century the company has been enabling engineering break throughs that lead to a better tomorrow.
In this role, technicians test finished o-rings or standard test pieces for several physical properties. We use standardized test methods for determining conformance to a standard or for investigating performance. Strength and stretch of the material, identification of the type of elastomer using analytical methods, low temperature resistance, or how they react to fluids such as automotive oils, hydraulic fluid, or even jet fuel, are just a few of the properties we measure.
With micrometers, tensometers, and durometers, DSC, TGA, and FTIR, our lab has a wide variety of equipment that technicians will operate for testing. Balancing time management and overseeing multiple projects with attention to detail are key to ensuring success. Data collection and entry and test report generation are streamlined with our laboratory information management system.
Highschool diploma preferred. Ability to operate computers and software for running lab instruments is essential. Organization and time management are crucial for scheduling testing and keeping track of testing in progress.
In compliance with ITAR regulations, applicants for this role must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Physical requirements to effectively perform this job may include seeing, talking, and hearing. Other requirements include sitting, standing, or walking as well as reaching with hands and arms and using hands to finger, handle or feel. Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
