Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient'sunderstanding and cooperationPrepares equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parametersImplements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessaryDetermines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedureEnters, out-patient orders, sends images to PACS and transmits images to Radiologist for interpretationAssists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessaryKeeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcarePerforms other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice

Required Licenses\:

Must have a current Mississippi Radiologic Technologist License

Required Certifications\:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 months of hireAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire or transfer

Required Skills\:

Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific area of work
