Primary Function

Responsible for managing all aspects of the operation of a State certified Lab (Clean Water Testing) in accordance with policies and guidelines as directed by Management including: supervision of all lab activities; lab accreditation; calibration, repair and maintenance of lab equipment; and purchase of all lab supplies and tools.

Responsibilities Provide direction, guidance, training, backup, and support for all lab personnel Operate, maintain, and repair analytical instrumentation including ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GFAA, CVAA, Ion Chromatography, and Flow Injection Maintain state certification of the lab, including overseeing all quality assurance and quality control requirements and preparing and responding to all lab audits Expand laboratory capabilities to include additional drinking water parameters Provide yearly budget input to Management for subordinate employee salary adjustments, tool and supply requirements, as well as necessary capital expenditures for laboratory upgrades and maintenance. Develop, maintain and grow partnerships with subcontract labs Evaluate Lab Analysis pricing structures to ensure market value and profitability Oversee all lab customer programs and develop new initiatives to increase business Additional responsibilities may include sample coding, sample preparation, routine sample analysis, sample container preparation, and helping customers assess results. Qualifications Associate Degree required Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field preferred 2+ years of supervisory/ leadership experience preferred 5+ years of work experience in a laboratory environment Education Bachelor's Degree in Related FieldWe Offer
