Technical Requirement:
• Lab Logistics Associate-I
o Required:
▪ Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
▪ A minimum of 0-1 year of experience assisting in a high throughput clinical lab,
inventory management, and data entry.
• Lab Logistics Associate-II
o Required:
▪ Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
▪ A minimum of 2-3 years of experience assisting in a high throughput clinical lab,
inventory management, and data entry.
• Senior/Lead Lab Logistics Associate
o Required:
▪ Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
▪ A minimum of 4-8 years of experience assisting in a high throughput clinical lab,
inventory management, data entry, and demonstrated leadership and training
experience.
Skill Requirement:
• Problem solving
• Strong attention to detail
• Understands and follows safety policies and procedures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Working experience with inventory management systems
• Experience ordering supplies and working with vendors
• Experience working with high functioning teams in a Clinical (CLIA) Laboratory production
setting.
•Commensurate with role, applicants will have strong data entry skills and the ability to
recommend or take appropriate action to resolve problems.
Key Responsibilities/Tasks/Competencies:
• All Levels
o Assists Molecular Technologists with non-testing tasks. This can include but is not
limited to contacting and scheduling services with building management, building
environmental services, lab coat services, biomedical waste services, and chemical
waste services.
o Oversees Inventory Management
o Receiving and storing supplies
o Contacts vendor to track orders when necessary
o Restocks lab workstations
o Completes inventory counts
o Keeps stock room neat and organized
o Point of contact for reporting inventory delays between vendors and the laboratory.
o Assists laboratory leadership in writing and maintaining standard operating procedures
related to inventory management.
o Contributes to ongoing process improvement efforts.
o Provide concise and informative documentation of all work performed, consistent with
the appropriate documentation systems.

• Lab Logistics Associate-I
o Will work closely with the General Supervisor, Molecular Supervisor(s), Senior/Lead
Laboratory Logistics Associate, and other Laboratory Logistics Associates on work
prioritization and mitigate risks associated with stock outs by ensuring adequate lead time
is given for ordering supplies.
o Will work with laboratory leadership to ensure optimal ordering triggers are in place and
that orders are placed in a timely fashion.
o Will support training of new team members in fundamental tasks.
o The team member is expected to develop self-sufficiency and proficiency in these areas
to be considered for a Lab Logistics-II position meaning the associate no longer requires
outside assistance to provide oversight of the inventory management system
• Lab Logistics Associate-II
o Provide expertise, experience, and support to the laboratory on the inventory
management system and work independently on non-testing tasks.
o Works closely with Lab Logistics Associate- I to assist in the development of the skills
outlined in this job description and acts as a model for their development in all respects.
o Under the direction of Laboratory Leadership, a Lab Logistics Associate II is expected to
work at times independently to manage work prioritization, show competency in all areas

o Provides leadership experience for strategic initiatives in developing, improving, and
maintaining the inventory management system.
o Works closely with Lab Logistics Associate - I & II to assist in the development of the
skills outlined in this job description; acts as a model for their development in all
respects.
o Under the direction of Laboratory Leadership, the Senior Lab Logistics Associate is
expected to work independently to manage work prioritization, show competency in all
areas of inventory management, and propose strategies for troubleshooting and
process improvement.
o The Senior Laboratory Logistics Associate will also lead efforts in process improvement
initiatives.
o The employee is expected to be self-sufficient in these areas to be considered for a Lead
Lab Logistics Associate position in addition to showing an aptitude for working with and
leading team members.
o Will participate in developing technical operating procedures specific to new process
development.
• Lead Lab Logistics Associate
o Strong management, organization, and communication skills.
o Provides leadership experience for strategic initiatives in developing, improving, and
maintaining the inventory management system.
o Point person for problem solving and addressing issues associated with inventory
management.
o Works closely with Lab Logistics Associates - I, II, Sr. and drive the development of the
skills outlined in this job description; acta as a model for their development in all
respects.
o Project management experience.
o Under the direction of Laboratory Leadership, the Lead Laboratory Logistics Associate
works independently to manage work prioritization, shows competency in all areas of
inventory management, participates in quality assurance documentation, and proposes
and implements strategies for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
o The employee is expected to be the subject matter expert in these areas and drive
continuous improvement across the areas of responsibility
