Job Title: Lab Engineer

Job Description

This position is responsible for oversight of high containment laboratory systems (Biosafety Safety Level 3 and Animal Biosafety Level 3) as well as engineering and controls for Biosafety Level 2 laboratories. The role involves developing a consistent management routine to review the controls graphics and fault detection programs to identify potential disruptions in functions. Additionally, the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator reviews and advises the FM team related to Preventative Maintenance tasks for each lab, tracks repairs of equipment and systems, and coordinates FM activities related to the annual maintenance shutdown for high containment labs. The position also involves maintaining detailed and accurate project records, supporting rational and beneficial energy conservation in lab HVAC operations, and collaborating with various community members.

Work Environment

Facilities work at a college university, involving both indoor and outdoor environments, some heights, and public buildings. The work is not in private living areas. The campus has nearly 200 buildings split into 7 zones, with each zone having approximately 20-40 buildings. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Permanent position based out of Atlanta, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
