CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a **Lab Associate** .

**Job Title:** Lab Associate
**Location:** Murphysboro, IL
_Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Murphysboro, IL_
**Pay Rate:** $18.00 per hour
**Work Hours:** Tuesday - Saturday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, occasional overtime required
**Education:** High school diploma or equivalent
A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as:
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing/production environment
+ Willingness to stand the sight of blood
**Description:**
This position involves working in a laboratory environment processing fetal bovine and calf bovine serum products from harvested bovine blood to ensure maximum quality and serum output. The candidate will produce and package bovine serum products for commercial use, following strict procedures.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for lab prep and setup for whole blood processing
+ Process whole blood into serum using centrifugation and separation techniques
+ Express serum into containers and perform multiple centrifugation processes
+ Pour and strain serum to separate from red blood cells
+ Properly dispose of unusable material
+ Operate pumps to transfer serum into pooling tanks
+ Perform final filling processes and package product into final containers
+ Weigh the product to ensure it meets specifications
+ Ensure proper documentation and labeling of serum
+ Maintain cleanliness of bottles and laboratory environment
+ Properly store the finished product in freezers
+ Perform proper sampling and hemoglobin testing of finished products
**Working Conditions:**
+ Works in a laboratory environment with extreme hot/cold temperatures
+ Exposed to high noise levels
+ Walking and standing for long hours
+ Repetitious movement and continuous light manufacturing work
+ Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs
**Required Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ No experience required
+ Good dexterity with hand/eye coordination
+ Ability to perform tests requiring exact measurements and strong attention to detail

The expected base salary for this position is $18.00 per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
