Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the Laboratory Assistant is to provide support to laboratory testing personnel under the direct supervision of a General Supervisor. Primary duties include specimen collection, specimen processing, maintenance of equipment, and waive or moderately complex testing. Compliance to all laboratory. Safety, and regulations are required. Applies principles, theories and techniques according to established laboratory practices and procedures to report accurate test results in Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.  All testing is to be performed in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations and as may be directed by the administrator and medical staff to ensure that the highest degree of quality patient care can be always maintained.  Perform specimen collection for patients of all ages (neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics).

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological science or related field that meets the requirements for waived and moderately complex testing.
