Lab Assistant
Performs blood collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner in high paced work areas such as Inpatient Floors (Intensive Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Unit, Family Birthing Center, and Adult Behavioral Health); Outpatient Draw Station, occasionally the Emergency Department, and Broadlawns affiliated Nursing Home Facilities. Responsible for accurate patient identification, specimen integrity, and sample labeling. Interacts with customers in a pleasant, efficient, and cooperative manner. Additional duties include registration, receipt of samples in the Laboratory Information System, processing of samples in Central Processing, and resulting moderately complex send-out testing results. May also assist in clerical duties of the department, training new employees, teaching phlebotomy students, and providing client and clinic courier duties.

Generally Monday-Friday, 6am - 2:30pm
Qualifications
High school diploma or GEDOne year experience as a PhlebotomistGood driving record, including no more than one moving violation in the last one year and no more than 2 moving violations in the prior 3 years and no DUI or DWI convictionsValid State of Iowa Driver's licenseBenefits (FT/PT)
