Visit dignityhealth.org/northridgehospital for more information. **Lab Assistant - Clinical Laboratory Services** **Northridge Hospital Medical Center** Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented **Lab Assistant** to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our laboratory staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory. **Responsibilities** + The lab assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care relative to the patients age-specific needs. + This lab assistant will be a critical role to the Emergency Room schedule + Assist with specimen processing, including labeling, centrifuging, and aliquoting. + Prepare reagents and solutions according to established protocols. + Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning. + Perform routine lab tasks such as washing glassware, sterilizing instruments, and preparing culture media. + Assist with data entry and record keeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. + Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols. + Assist with other tasks as assigned by the laboratory supervisor. **Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalency. + One (1) year laboratory clerical and/or phlebotomy experience in an acute care facility required. + Must have knowledge of medical terminology + Phlebotomy training must meet needs of newborn through geriatric populations. + California Phlebotomy Technician License (CT Phlebotomy) required. + American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (AHA BLS) required. + Fire Safety Card (CT Fire Card) required.
