Shift: 9:00am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday (and occasional Saturdays with a day off during the week)
The Lab Aide (LA), also known as Accessioner, is responsible for receiving, recording and processing all inbound clinical laboratory samples for testing. They are also responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment and following the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling, receipt and data entry into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Responsible for the receipt, recording and processing of all clinical laboratory samples for testingResponsible for performing work safely and applying all relevant protocolsTakes responsibility and ownership for timely and quality completion of workDetail-oriented, time-organized and ensures completion of tasksAbility to work independently and collaborate with others on the teamsBe able to recognize when to escalate issues encountered in the labWorks to overcome obstacles to completing tasks or assignmentsAbility to clearly communicate work in progress (WIP) to next shiftAble to communicate issues with equipment and safety via ticketing systemsResponsible for completing all required trainings and competencies on timeUnderstands the internal activity (IA) process and can resolve sample issuesActs as an ambassador for health and safety in the laboratory environmentResponsible for helping train new personnelForesees issues and works to overcome obstacles to completing tasks or assignmentsDemonstrated ability to achieve goals by performing collaborative projects with team members across multiple disciplines and with internal customersBe proficient in LIMS data entryMay be tasked to coordinate sample return with multiple departments both internal and externalRequirements:
1 year of laboratory experience or accessioning experienceMust be comfortable with the handling and processing of blood samplesAbility to read, understand, and comply with detailed procedures that ensure the safety of all staffDemonstrated ability to work both independently, following detailed work instructions, and as part of a cohesive team that together completes daily sample intake and processing in a timely mannerAbility to multi-task and prioritize duties to meet timelinesExhibit initiative and leadership to complete laboratory tasksExcellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and time management skills are essentialAll listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.

The estimated base hourly range for the Lab Aide 2 role based in the United States of America is: $21.77 - $32.64. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
