Job Description

Our distribution business is experiencing transformative growth—with no end in sight. 

That’s why we’re looking for a Kitting and Production Manager for our Garland, UT, distribution center. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing daily operations of one or more assigned production areas. The position also requires ensuring that output of assigned area(s) meets established schedules or quality goals. Applicants should have excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet, work independently, make decisions and take appropriate actions. The ideal candidate also possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is expected. 

A day in the office looks like this: 

Plan and monitor daily labor needs based on immediate and forecasted order and unit volumes  Ensure all orders are processed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner, making sure proper procedures and training are provided to hourly associates  Manage a team that is responsible for operating production machinery, assembling items, performing quality control or packaging goods for shipment Monitor output of assigned area(s) against established schedules or quality goals Maintain a high level of associate morale and recognition; manage annual turnover rate to acceptable levels  Monitor staffing levels with senior manager to ensure adequate staffing for present and future needs; actively participate in the hiring process  Maintain a working knowledge of and comply with all company policies and procedures  Monitor standard procedures and recommend new procedures when necessary to ensure that the overall operation runs effectively  Consult with senior manager and site director to ensure consistent use and enforcement of facility and department policies and procedures  Work cross-departmentally with other managers and members to leadership to improve the quality and effectiveness of the overall operation; set and drive toward continuous improvement goals  Contribute to an effective safety and security program and ensure compliance from warehouse associates  Oversee the development of supervisors and associates by ensuring they are cross-trained and given the proper tools to do their jobs so that they can contribute to the total operation 

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Minimum 5+ years within a high-volume automated distribution center or break-bulk LTL terminal  Experience in general utilizing sophisticated WMS/WCS and other automated systems and equipment, including RF equipment, sortation, put-to-light conveyor systems and forklifts  Ability to manage a team of individuals with differing levels of skill to enable them to achieve performance and quality standards  College degree or 5+ years’ equivalent experience required  Excellent verbal and written communication skills  Excellent follow-up skills  Strong attention to detail
