Job Summary: The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing work areas, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is in good working order. Position Type: Seasonal Season Dates: May through October 2025 (exact dates vary by location) Pay: $16.35/hr Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Glacier National Park? Ensure kitchen area is clean, well maintained and organized at all times. Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times. Oversee all equipment is clean and in good working order. Ensure waste areas are clean and tidy. Supervise and train Kitchen Workers in the dish-pit area. Oversee Xanterra and National Park Service standards are met throughout kitchen area. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to oversee the operation and maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen area. Must be familiar with proper use of chemicals, and draining and filling dish machines. Must have experience as a supervisor or lead role in a Back of the House function. Ability to communicate clearly to create a Teamwork environment. Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, high stress environment. Physical Requirements include: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours. Must be able to walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time. Must be able to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions.
