The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction for Global Alcohol accounts. This role involves developing and implementing strategic account plans, managing, and building relationships with key stakeholders, and identifying new business opportunities. The KAM will play a pivotal role in delivering the company's growth agenda for Alcohol Accounts in Greater Africa driving Brewing Ingredients, Enzymes and Taste business.

Location: Greater Africa (East, West, Central and North Africa)
Reports to: Commercial Director, Global Accounts

Key responsibilities

 

Account Management & Relationship Building:

Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with Global Alcohol Accounts. Act as the primary point of contact between the company and clients, understanding customer needs and aligning solutions to meet their objectives. Conduct regular business reviews with clients to ensure expectations are being met and to foster collaborative growth. Build internal relationships within Kerry to foster collaboration and drive growth.

 

Strategic Planning & Execution:

Develop and execute account-specific strategies to drive revenue growth and market share within the Global Alcohol accounts space. Identify and anticipate client needs, providing innovative solutions to enhance product offerings and meet market demands. Partner with the marketing and product development teams to bring new Alcohol products to the market.

 

Sales & Revenue Growth:

Achieve sales targets and objectives, including volume, revenue, and profitability goals. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts to maximize account potential. Conduct market analysis to identify new growth areas and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

 

Market & Competitor Analysis:

Monitor alcohol industry trends in Africa to understand market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer demands. Provide insights and recommendations based on market intelligence to influence business decisions and strategies. Develop competitor profiles and benchmark the company’s offerings to maintain a competitive edge.

 

Collaboration & Cross-functional Engagement:

Work closely with the R&D, operations, supply chain, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on product offerings and timely delivery. Collaborate with other sales and account management teams to share insights and best practices. Actively contribute to regional and global initiatives to enhance the company’s position in the Alcohol market.

 

Forecasting & Budgeting:

Prepare accurate sales forecasts and budgets for account of responsibility. Track and report on sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and making data-driven recommendations.

 

Qualifications and skills Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Food Science, or a related field; MBA is a plus. Preferably a minimum of 7 years in key account management, sales, or a similar role within the Alcohol industry with proven track record.  Good Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Alcohol industry, including product trends, market challenges, and regulatory requirements in different Africa countries. Language Skills: Proficiency in English (French is a plus). Good to have Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience in distributor recruitment and management. Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within Africa region as needed. Customer Focused: Ability to anticipate customer needs and deliver tailored solutions. Commercial Acumen: Strong business sense with a strategic mindset and a focus on achieving results. Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and externally with clients. Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and able to adjust to changes quickly. Innovative Thinking: Demonstrates creativity in problem-solving and a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities.
