The TGP/JUR entity provides legal support for the drafting, negotiation, implementation, and management of goods and services purchase contracts to comply with legal requirements. The Legal Division helps improve procurement by simplifying and standardizing contractual conditions for suppliers.

The entity advises and assists the Projects and Equipment Purchasing Division on various international procurement categories. It also assists in significant litigation cases.

The projects are cross-functional and require consideration of various rules in coordination with the company's specialized lawyers (HSE, corruption, competition, IP, economic sanctions, compliance, personal data, etc.). Managing these complex cases involves significant financial stakes.

Activities

The Projects and Equipment Purchasing department lawyer deals with all types of subjects related to the purchasing categories such as:

Preparing, drafting and negotiating contracts for the purchase of goods and services of all types in collaboration with other departments and contract engineers.Conducting a legal risk analysis and participating in the definition of the contractual strategy, issuing recommendations and proposing solutions to best promote the interests of the Company.Providing legal support to contract engineers in the Projects and Equipment Purchasing Division during the implementation of key contracts. Also providing legal assistance required in post-signature contract management (eg. contract interpretation and pre-litigation and litigation).Proactivity and participation in the creation, implementation, deployment and improvement of skills, legal tools, best practices and contractual standards within the framework (or in addition to) of the policies put in place by TGP's legal division.Participating in the development of educational tools and conducting training for lawyers, buyers and others as relevant.Implementing the Company's policies and rules relevant to contracts for the purchase of goods and services.Monitoring relevant legal developments.Coordinating working groups on specific topics (international or external) as requested.Providing regular reporting to the Head of Legal Procurement, Projects and Equipment.

 

 

Candidate Profile

Holder of a higher legal education, preferably with a qualification in English law, you have at least 6 years of experience in contract law, international business law, and ideally in petroleum law and construction law, acquired within an international group and/or a law firm. 

You possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills for legal issues, clear and precise drafting abilities, as well as a great capacity for adaptation and innovation. Pragmatic and client-oriented, you are also recognized for your ability to work in a team and share information.

You have strong negotiation skills in an international context. Expertise in financing and managing infrastructure projects would also be appreciated.

Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of French and a third language is an additional asset.
