Role overview :
Operations and transaction management is a critical function within OMSFIN organisation. It involves overseeing the day-to-day activities related to transactions, processes, and systems to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Operations technical specialists play a pivotal role in optimizing business operations by managing and streamlining transactional processes. They ensure that transactions are executed smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role involves a combination of strategic planning, process improvement, and day to day operation functions.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess exceptional analytical abilities, effective communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of financial principles and product lifecycle management.
Key Result Areas :
Trade/Deal Support (supporting the ALM, Execution, Treasury, CPM areas and stakeholder clients)
Performing trade support including trade confirmations, amendments, facilitation of security setup, preparation of trade instructions to outsourced provider and confirmation of payments.
Responsible for preparation of reports -daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly
Performing and coordinating fee processes including calculation, invoicing, fee split and instructions to internal and external stakeholders.
Accountable for managing the corporate action process across trade activities and as this integrates into the backoffice.
Responsible for operational compliance and adherence to daily control procedures including reconciliations.
Assisting with other daily adhoc administration and queries (including audit) where required.
Trade Confirmations
Business Support and Stakeholder Management:
Formalise the provision and receipt of feedback on service received and provided (leverages internal and external networks). Across Curo, OMIG and LDI given outsourcing policy requirements.
Accountable for key input into supervising and managing the outsourced administration support including trade, settlement, reconciliation, issue escalation and resolution and operational change management.
Preparation of quarterly packs for service-related meetings with both outsourced service provider and other stakeholders
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining relationships with counterparty back office, banks and custodian/s
Drives input into key reviews and updates to agreements (when necessary), monitoring of SLA delivery and participates in internal and external Operational meetings where necessary.
Cultivates strong working relationships with intermediaries (brokers, custodians, banks, dealers) including the outsourced investment administration service provider (enabling all operational requirements) and creates continuity of this across the team empowering others.
Demonstrates ability to add value by anticipating possible solutions and follow-up queries; partnering with the Intermediary to implement needs and deliver operational excellence.
Operational support:
Assisting and supporting projects and new initiatives within the operations area.
Monitoring mailboxes and issue escalation where required to both internal and external stakeholders.
Technology Partnership: Collaborate with Technology team to facilitate improved work processes and support the drive of digitisation efforts across the team.
Financial Control and Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial control frameworks and internal requirements. Implement and maintain controls to ensure accurate financial reporting, data integrity, and compliance.
Risk Management: Assess and manage financial risks associated with the assigned products, ensuring internal risk management policies. Monitor market risk exposures and collaborate with other teams to mitigate risks.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting and control processes. Participate in projects aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing risk management frameworks.
Conduct regular reviews of trade support processes and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Assist with the implementation and testing of new systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Stay updated on industry trends, market regulations, and best practices related to investment operations and product control functions.
Qualifications and Experience required :
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Between 5-7 years relevant working experience within middle office and operations functions within investment banking or a similar financial institution is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of investment products, trade lifecycle, and financial markets.
Knowledge of investment banking operations, including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
Proficient in using investment banking systems and platforms, including trade Risk systems, trade matching platforms, and reconciliation tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in MS Excel, coding, including advanced functions and data analysis.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and prioritize tasks accordingly.

Operational ComplianceIdentify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
