We are searching for a dynamic Junior Mining & Process Plant Engineer The successful candidate would be responsible for coordination of company mining projects The role is based in Sandton and the successful candidate will be expected to travel to our mining operations at least one week in the month These will include mining operations include alluvial diamond mining on the West Coast anthracite mining in Vryheid KZN and other projects in the development phase in coal and uranium
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate the company mining activities in conjunction with the operational staff based on the mine
Preparation and building of financial models
Analyse business performance using industry standard process reengineering techniques
Monitor and evaluate mine performance against forecasts
Monitor expenses and manage costs in line with budgetary constraints
Provide technical support to production facilities and ensure process reliability
Prepare appropriate reports for consideration by the executive team
Provide process support to the other engineering disciplines
Requirements
3 to 5 years work experience as a Junior Mining & Process Plant Engineer
Must have a Mining Engineering Degree
Experience in coal mining will be an added advantage
Strong capabilities in terms of finance and model building and appreciation of legislation that underpins mining operations in South Africa
