Position Purpose
We are looking for a talented and ambitious junior lawyer to join our small but dynamic legal team supporting Bristol Myers Squibb’s UK and Ireland business.
The ideal candidate is agile, keen to learn and open to new ideas and ways of thinking and working.
This lawyer will support all areas of our business alongside two senior lawyers.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on Business Operations
Support the day-to-day operations of the UK and Ireland, including commercial, medical affairs, market access, sales and marketing, finance and HR.Participate in activities and meetings to identify, evaluate and address legal issues in a strategic manner.Provide proactive legal advice in order to manage legal risk and help drive well-informed decision making. Review and revise contracts and other transactional documents.Prepare and review standard documentation (e.g. contract templates) based on global templates.Corporate Secretarial Work
Manage all Corporate Secretarial work for the UK and Ireland legal entities.Support the Global Law Department
Work collaboratively with colleagues from Intellectual Property, Corporate Transactions, Research and Development, Employment, and Litigation. Contribute to seamless collaboration across the Global Law department with positive, solution-oriented approach.Operate with Candor, Expertise, Transparency and Integrity
Deliver pro-active, practical, solution-oriented advice that drives informed decision-making in support of commercialization strategy and execution. Discuss issues in a professional, candid and transparent manner, building trust and confidence in all actions.Qualifications
University law degree or post graduate legal qualificationAdmission to practice law in the UK or extensive paralegal experienceFluency in English, both verbally and in writingKey Requirements
Experience with contracts and knowledge of local pharmaceutical industry practices, applicable industry codes and relevant laws is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong and trusted relationships across the business and within the Law DepartmentAbility to work in cross functional teams and act as catalyst.Positive, proactive and solution focused#LI-Hybrid
