About the Role 

West Elm is seeking a highly motivated Junior Digital Graphic Designer to support in creating compelling visual content to support storytelling and contribute to overall creative look and feel of digital marketing assets across West Elm and West Elm Kids. This role will design creative assets like email and paid marketing, while also contributing to other digital categories like web design and social media. They will work closely with the digital art director, design and marketing teams to produce pixel-perfect digital collateral, while helping to evolve digital marketing templates and style guides. 


Our ideal candidate appreciates design, photography and type hierarchies, and is up-to-date on current digital marketing trends across multiple platforms. This person thrives in a fast-moving environment balancing multiple projects simultaneously and is comfortable working with precise technical specifications regarding image usage, media and file formats, and copy styling. 

 

Responsibilities 

Design email creative and digital marketing assets, collaborate with other designers on web design, social media, and other digital channels. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with art directors & designers, marketing, copy team and other cross-functional stakeholders.  Partner with content and social teams to elevate and evolve brand storytelling across all digital marketing assets. Build and maintain organized files. Work closely with the team to streamline and develop workflows to better work with other members of the creative team, and cross-functionally. Contribute to evolving digital templates and help maintain libraries. Keep all team members up-to-date on any new templates or guideline updates. Problem-solve and think fast on your feet to deliver quick turnaround when required. Constantly strive for more innovative solutions across email design and process. Stay up to date on marketing trends and digital best practices to keep creative fresh and innovative. 

Criteria

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, or related field. 1-2 years of digital design experience. Retail marketing or home experience a plus.  Meticulously organized and careful attention to detail & quality.  Ability to communicate clearly with peers and across disciplines. Ability to self-manage timelines with varying delivery dates simultaneously. Ability to exercise initiative in a changing environment. A dedication to delivering high-quality, organized final projects. Ability to meet deadlines and can react to business needs and fluctuations in workload. Proficient in Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Project management software. Comfortable using Microsoft Suite such as, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.  This role requires being onsite in the Dumbo Brooklyn office.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $24 - $28/hour. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
