Overview

Hire Resolve is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Cost & Management Accountant for our client, a leading company specializing in food innovation, production, and distribution, based in Strand, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional looking to grow their career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within the food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will play a key role in cost analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting to support operational efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing cost reports and variance analysis. Monitor production costs, overheads, and expenses. Support in developing and maintaining standard costing models. Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Support in analyzing actual vs. budgeted costs and identifying discrepancies. Prepare monthly management reports, including cost trends and profitability analysis. Support in financial modeling for cost-saving initiatives. Monitor inventory valuation and reconcile stock variances. Ensure accurate costing of raw materials and finished goods. Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Support ERP system maintenance related to cost data. Ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies. Assist in audits by providing cost-related data and documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Studying towards or completed CIMA, ACCA, or SAIPA is advantageous. 1–3 years of experience in cost and management accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. Experience working with costing methodologies, variance analysis, and inventory control. Exposure to financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Syspro, or similar). Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and financial reporting. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
