The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Journeyman Virtual Desktop Interface Virtualization Specialist to provide support and services to USSTRATCOM in the design, implementation and management of VDI solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of virtualization technologies, desktop management and security protocols to ensure seamless and secure access to virtual desktops across the organization.
The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.
Responsibilities:
Virtualization Specialist, Journeyman:
Applies fundamental concepts in planning, engineering, installing, configuring, maintaining, operating, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing virtual desktop infrastructure and servers
Provides virtual desktop management services
Works with senior specialist to secure day-to-day operations by maintaining, managing, monitoring, and administering, including patching for server systems, Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) and non-IAVA compliance, and administering server systems on designated networks
Assists in maintaining and administering hardware, software, firmware, and OSs for designated physical and virtual servers
Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) as required by mission needs
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership to meet mission requirements and support USSTRATCOM objectives. Depending on experience and team structure, this role may involve working under direct supervision or potentially providing guidance, training, or supervision to others
Qualifications:
Required:
Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in virtualization technologies, specifically with VDI solutions (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix)
Required 8140 Cert within 6 months of start date: 451 - Basic; A+ or CND or Network+; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training
AND
Additional Cert: VMWare VCP certification
Strong knowledge of networking, storage, and server infrastructure
Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

The proposed salary range for this position is:
