Axient looking for a Journeyman & Senior Space Systems Engineers to support our customer in El Segundo, CA. These positions support the USSF Space System’s Command’s (SSC’s) Space Systems Integration office (SSIO) at Los Angeles AFB in El Segundo, California. This full-time position assists SSIO with integration of space system of systems capabilities and requirements across the SSC space programs SSC and in conjunction with USSF partners and stakeholders.
What you will do...Duties include, but are not limited to:
Preparing briefings and technical reportsAssisting in collecting information from or sharing information with SSC PEOs and other SSC stakeholders Provide support to the development of integrated architectures & requirements in collaboration with Space Warfighter/Analysis Center (SWAC), Space Operations for Strategy and Resources Office (CSRO/S5R), and key stakeholders for Missile Warning/Missile Track (MVMT), Position Navigation and Timing (PNT), Satellite Communications (SatCom), Space Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM), Tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (TacISR), Launch/AATS, BMC3, C3BM and other areas in the SSC portfolioSupport to the development of war rooms, architectural roadmaps, and capability epochs as requiredIdentification of capability gaps in space technologies and determination of science and technology investmentsSupport prioritization of Space Systems Command POM requirements in CSRO/S5R requirement’s roleSupport assessment of in theater kill chains and the Space systems contribution, with the goal of identifying risks, issues and gapsSupport to the development of enterprise and cross-cutting space systems requirementsIdentifying and analyzing cross cutting requirements space systems and technologies that could facilitate or enable SSC and it’s partners to expand its mission capabilities or close gaps in integrated space systems Reviewing, developing, coordinating, with Government project leads the requirements statements, and the entry and exit criteria definition for the development of new cross-cutting requirementsAssessing policy derivatives of technical requirementsProviding guidance in identifying possible solutions to problems in development as they arise in terms of quantifiable parameters required for meeting mission requirements, sustainment requirements, and affordability. Skills you will need...Minimum Requirements:
Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders/customers from DoD agencies to commercial industryThe ability to clearly articulate ideas, recommendations and options to the customerStrong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and presentation skillsKnowledgeable in the use and application of MS Office suite – specifically word and excelAbility to learn and adapt to the use of new tools that may be used in future STP activitiesThe ability to work in a dynamic environment, under pressure with multiple deadlines and deliverablesThe ability to travel at the customer’s request to support meetings and reviews
Preferred Skills:
Experience/working knowledge of AF acquisition lifecycle processKnowledge of JCIDs requirements practicesExperience in space acquisition as a military or as a contractor/DoD civilianRequired Experience:
Must have a minimum of a BS in Physics, Engineering, Meteorology, Aeronomy, Earth Science, mathematics, operations analysis, business or a closely related discipline.At least 10 years, preferably 20 years of experience in positions that required scientific to practical application of technology components leading to quantitative results against user performance thresholds. Exceptions will be considered based on past work experience. Background and knowledge of Space Systems Command programs preferred SATCOM, PNT, Space and Terrestrial Weather, Missile Warning/Missile Tracking, Battle Management/C3, Ground and Network Segments, Space Superioity, or Tactical ISR).Must have an active and transferrable DoD TS/SCI security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain a TS/SCI level clearance#CJ
