Job Counselor
Since 2017, IRC Hellas supports vulnerable youth refugee and host communities in Athens to access income generation through employment and self-employment services and skills-building activities, directly and in collaboration with partners. Building on this experience, IRC Hellas, with the support of UNHCR and in partnership with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, is implementing the Youth Empowerment and Self-Reliance project for the third year to promote socio-economic equal access for vulnerable youth in Thessaloniki.
To support with the implementation of the project, IRC Hellas is recruiting a Job Counselor, to be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of employability activities, including service mapping, stakeholder engagement, job counseling and Job Readiness Trainings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Organize needs assessment and service mapping activities related to employability and skills development programming for youth;• Participate in stakeholder engagement activities;• Support the project implementation by designing, organizing and leading Job Readiness Trainings and information sessions for youth;• Support the project implementation by providing individual employment support/job counseling for youth;• Proactively working to identify issues related to clients’ participation and report them to the Senior Livelihoods Manager.• Ensuring relevant project data is accurately collected and updated on a weekly and monthly basis.
Program Coordination Responsibilities
• Coordinate closely with the team to ensure effective implementation of the provided activities;• Participate in regular team meetings;• Ensure regular reporting from the projects is compiled and reports are submitted to the Senior Livelihoods Manager on a weekly/monthly basis;• Any other task designated by the Senior Livelihoods Manager as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS Degree in social sciences, education, project management, and/or related certification required. Master’s degree or additional certification in Job Counseling is strongly preferred. • Minimum 2 years’ experience in training, employment support, counseling or project management, primarily in relation to refugee protection. NGO experience preferred.• Strong interest in supporting refugees and vulnerable populations (experience supporting youth a plus)• Demonstrated understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clientsand partners• Good interpersonal and strong negotiation skills essential with experience in conflict resolutiondesirable• Excellent verbal communication skills• Strong liaison and diplomatic skills• Punctuality and attention to detail• Computer skills, in particular Excel• Fluency in both Greek and English is mandatory
