Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a talented Jira Manager to support the Sr.Manager of Jira and ServiceNow team in Service Management group. The Jira Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Jira professionals accountable for planning, delivery and operations for Jira/Confluence platforms. The Jira Manager will be working collaboratively with cross-functional leaders and other stakeholders to increase efficiency, automate work and streamline the current development process. The Jira Manager in collaboration with the Sr.Manager of Jira and ServiceNow is accountable for defining the product roadmap, project and portfolio management strategy for the enterprise.  .
 
What you’ll do:

Lead a team of professionals to design and develop workflow solutions and automations to streamline our processes and drive insights into our network and services to help ensure best customer experience possible. Work in a fast-paced environment in a smaller devops team where you will collaborate with teams across the company to continuously deliver business workflow implementation and automation through Jira/Confluence.  Drive best practices and standardization of processes and reporting across Agile project delivery at Rogers  Listen to the Business units across Rogers to identify areas of improvements/issues, build requirements and implement them.  Lead a team that designs, configures, manages, and supports Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence).  Work with business primes to evaluate JIRA and Confluence plug-ins, determine licensing needs, and perform testing, installation, and configuration of plug-ins.  Own documentation of standards, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for admins/users of the system.  Oversight over solutioning and implementation of system integrations between Jira and other corporate systems/tools.

Your technical skills include: 

3-5 years’ experience leading teams and projects who are responsible for solutioning and/or administering Jira/IT servers and applications Education: undergraduate university degree in computer engineering/computer science.  Experience with installing, configuring, and upgrading Atlassian Data Center applications of Confluence, Crowd, and/or Jira 2-5 years’ experience in both waterfall and Agile/SAFe, ideally in a technology environment. Escalation point and day to day decision maker for the Jira requests   Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define project and portfolio management goals, objectives, and establish and monitor process metrics and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.   Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to Jira/Confluence tools and services   Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills  Ability to lead complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of various factors to determine all options and arrive at the best solution  Creative and effective decision making to solve problems/achieve results  Working knowledge with Python, Java, CSS, HTML and JavaScript skills  Working knowledge of Simple Issue Language™ (SIL) and Groovy for Jira scripting. Familiarity with database and MS SQL administration and demonstrated competency in writing SQL queries.  Solid analytical skills (ability to visualize data and make insights)  Knowledge of consuming web services (REST/SOAP)  Leadership and People Development     Create an environment of inclusiveness, trust and candor where team members feel encouraged and empowered & establish Project and Portfolio Management as an internal career destination.   Develop high performing employees and teams with clarity on expectations, accountabilities and clearly connect their work to business outcomes.  Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise Jira team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.  Live into the one-team culture and embody and build with trust, transparency, and authenticity.  Manage communications and key updates to stakeholders, leadership, and departments inclusive of performance drivers, metrics, reporting and delivery value.  Partner with business stakeholders to enable fully informed decision making and alignment through full transparency, prioritization and planning tied to business outcomes.  Position the team to be trusted advisors with transparent and collaborative styles.  Develop and maintain key relationships with strategic partners and relevant industry networks and peers.  Performance & talent management, development, and engagement.
