Assist in the designing, testing, and implementation of programming applications using Java/J2EE programming language. Work with middleware technologies and databases to prepare detailed technical specifications from which integration services will be written. Works under close supervision and learns technical skills from more experienced Java developers.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in implementation planning, fit analysis, configuration, testing, rollout, and post implementation support of software applicationsElicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the needs of project stakeholders including customers and end usersAnalyze, review, and alter programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt new requirementsCoordinate resolution of issues and defects discovered during testingGather business requirements and define detailed specificationsAssist in the development and debugging of software using Java/J2EEParticipate in the development of software using web presentation technologies such as AJAX, JSON, JavaScript, CSS and HTMLSWork with Business Analysts to design and deploy database schemas and specify all attributes of database tables including primary keys, foreign keys, identities, constraints, default values, indexes, and triggersProvide on call support for production systems to ensure on-time, quality service can be provided to customersAssist with database application development using SQL and JDBCProcess documentation to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirementsWork with more experienced developers to develop skillsJob Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent education and experienceExperience:
1+ year educational and or work experience with web applications and hosting environmentsUnderstanding of software development methodologies and modern best practicesFamiliarity with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.)Familiarity with JSP/Servlet container frameworks, Apache, Tomcat, JSP, JSF, Hibernate, REST, SOAP, Web Services, Web Services Security, and Test-Driven Development with JUnit or equivalent toolExperience with Eclipse or equivalent modern IDEExperience with Subversion or equivalent Source Control Management solutionExperience developing web applications and user interfaces with Java technologies such as JDBC, JSP, JSF, and servletsAbility to multitask and work as a team playerStrong problem-solving skills and self-motivatedExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking Days:
