Compensation: $23.45 - $23.45 per hour

Skookum is seeking a dedicated and hard-working Janitor Lead with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Assist Supervisor with ensuring all areas are clean, sanitary, safe, orderly, and in a functional environment.

Assist Supervisor with ensuring quality service to meet the contract requirements.

Assist Supervisor with ensuring that QC inspections are followed up on and corrected on time.

Assist Supervisor with conducting supply and equipment inventory of J-locker and storage areas.

Assist Supervisor with daily turn-in of Janitorial Lead Inspection Sheet and Feminine Dispenser log.

Assist Supervisor with monthly turn-in of Janitorial Lead log, Sanitary Dispenser log, and Employee or Route Evaluation as performed.

Assist Supervisor with any scheduling as needed, including covering routes.

Assist Supervisor with training employees, Assist Supervisor with resolving personnel issues/problems, Assist Supervisor with evaluation of employee performance and training forms as scheduled.

Assist Supervisor with various reports- i.e., schedules, training, attendance, evaluations, various employee documentation, accurate timekeeping, and accident reports.

Responsible for the issue, turn in & securing of all government and Skookum keys/vehicles/phones. Ensure that buildings are secured, and safety measures are taken when exiting.

Restroom Cleaning – sanitize and clean all toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, partitions, walls & doors. Restock supplies. Collect trash and replace liners. Sweep and mop floor. Follow cross contamination procedures.

Office Cleaning – sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule. Spot entry doors.

Cleaning halls and high traffic areas – sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule. Spot entry doors.

Cleaning entrances and exits – sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.

Trash – trash lunchrooms, coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker daily. Office areas trash according to schedule.

Restocking supplies – restock supplies daily.

Dusting – dusting in lunch/coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker areas, and dust free areas only.

Cleaning stairwells – sweep, mop, vacuum, wipe handrails according to schedule.

Cleaning portable showers – clean all shower stalls, damp wipe for dust, restock supplies, mop floors following cross contamination procedures.

Maintaining lockers – clean and organize. Clean and rinse all equipment before storing.

Wet/Dry mopping – wet/dry mop each floor according to schedule.

Sweeping – sweep each area according to schedule.

Always courteous and professional when communicating with customers.

Carpet spotting – spot clean heavily soiled carpet prior to shampooing.

Carpet shampooing – operate industrial carpet cleaner to shampoo carpets according to schedule. 

Strip wax from floors – apply stripping solution either manually or with floor care equipment to remove old wax for each area according to schedule.

Wax floors- apply new floor wax for each area either manually or with floor care equipment according to schedule.

Act as backup Lead and Janitor coverage when needed for other shifts; Working Lead spends 85% of time on route.

Qualifications: 

1 to 3 years’ experience in a custodial capacity preferred.

Experience in training and working with people with disabilities preferred.

Experience with scheduling and report documentation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
