IUOE Stationary Boiler Opr
Responsibilities **Responsibilities and Job Requirements:** The Stationary Boiler Operator is responsible for the insurance of adequate steam, chilled water, hot water and electricity required to meet the demands of the University of Rochester in the most safe, efficient, and cost effective manner, on a continuous basis. Receives direction from the Lead Shift Engineer and/or Stationary Operating Engineer to ensure operation of all CU equipment in the most safe, efficient and reliable manner while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies. Monitors all equipment through the DCS system and through physical rounding. Performs light maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, greasing, lubrication, tightening of loose fasteners, O&M of traveling water. Completes all reports, data acquisitions, software entries. Monitors all boiler, tower, hot water and chilled water chemistry with the direction of the lead engineer and the water treatment specialist treating the water accordingly through addition of chemicals and or blow downs. **Education/Experience (minimum required):** High School Graduate (preferably Trade School). Needs to hold a 3 rd Class Stationary Engineer’s License. Experience should include documented operation and maintenance of a high & low pressure steam plant with centrifugal chillers, high & low pressure boilers, steam turbines, electrical generators, pumps and motors. ***License/Certification Required:** Requires a current City of Rochester 3 rd Class Stationary Engineer’s License and a clean NYS driver’s license The University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion to advance the University’s mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create – and Make the World Ever Better.
