Summary Job title: IT Training Specialist Job ID: 202496350004 Department: Learning Development Location: TX-Irving Description Summary: Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, training specialist to work with their IT Department in Irving, TX. This position is responsible for creating both written technical documentation and video training on the use of CED’s software applications. This position may also assist in creating training deliverables for other enterprise learning needs. Successful candidates will have experience with technical writing and developing training materials for adult learners. This position will work with CED’s IT implementation specialists and/or subject matter experts to understand learning requirements and will use their expertise to create or update training deliverables. Successful candidates will have a high degree of comfort using technology and managing multiple projects. Reports to: Manager of Learning Development Minimum Qualifications: · Bachelor degree in Communications, English, Instructional Design, Business, Information Technology, Education, or related fields. · Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a software or technical training development role, or technical writing role. · Demonstrated experience in sequencing processes and organizing large amounts of complex content into easily understandable deliverables. · Excellent verbal and written communications skills. · Possesses strong collaborative skills; is practiced at interviewing or facilitating group discussions to obtain information from subject matter experts. · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel). · Ability to work independently, multitask, manage time and workload under changing conditions. · Proven experience in creating effective training programs, documents, or other materials to assist learners or end users. Work samples will be requested. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience managing and driving projects to completion with minimal supervision. · Experience writing user guides or online help documentation a plus. · Some experience with Camtasia Studio, Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, MadCap Flare, Adobe Robohelp or similar software is a plus. · Graphic design experience. Working Conditions: · This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional home-office/remote work options. · Position will involve both working alone and collaborating as part of a team, both in person and remotely, using collaboration tools. · Extensive computer use. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Essential Job Functions: · Partners with product owners, implementation teams, and other stakeholders to create training and materials that promote adoption of technologies supported by CED’s IT groups. · Partners with business stakeholders to create training materials and documentation for enterprise learning needs. · Analyzes specific training needs and objectives for assigned projects. · Writes, designs, develops, and maintains documentation and training materials, including job aids, user guides, promotional content, online help, release notes, and e-learning videos. · Creates multimedia products using a variety of software programs, primarily in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Camtasia, Snag It, Audacity, MadCap Flare, Articulate 360, Canva, and Adobe Captivate. · As assigned, assists with the administration of learning delivery systems and content, such as MyCED Intranet, Online Help platforms, and CED’s Learning Management System (LMS). · Learns new software quickly and is able to keep pace with developing training deliverables in an Agile systems development environment. · Integrates emerging instructional methods and multimedia technologies into e-learning/ instructional programs. · Applies interactive learning principles to instructional programs and solutions designed for adult learners. · Manages projects effectively, delivering products on-time and at a high level of quality.
