Job Title: IT Support Specialist Level 1

Location: On-Site, Snowbird Resort

Status: Hourly, Full-time, Year-round

Department: Information Technology


SUMMARY:

Join our team at Snowbird as an IT Operations Support Specialist Level 1, where you’ll play a key role in maintaining and supporting the employee experience and technology operations that keeps our resort running smoothly. You’ll provide first-level technical assistance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure seamless connectivity and productivity across the resort. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a passion for technology, skiing/snowboarding and the outdoor lifestyle.
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to identify recurring issues and recommend improvementsTechnical Support: Provide first-level support to end users across multiple departments at the resort and off-resort officesHelp Desk Management: Respond to and resolve IT support requests via help desk software, phone, email, and in-person interactions, ensuring timely resolution of technical issuesHardware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues with computers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, printers, scanners, handheld devices, gates, and other resort equipment on-mountain and base village areaUser Support: Provide support for Microsoft Office Suite, resort-specific software, and other applications used by staffTicketing Systems: Troubleshoot and support electronic ticketing and RFID gate systems to ensure smooth guest check-in and lift accessNetwork Monitoring: Assist with monitoring the resort’s network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, to ensure optimal performance for guests and staffSystem Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on hardware and software systems, including updates, backups, and troubleshooting operational issuesDocumentation: Create and maintain detailed support operation documents of support tickets and IT issues, as well as documentation of system configurations and proceduresOn-call Support: Participate in on-call rotation and available for on-call shifts, especially during peak season, to provide urgent technical support
 

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE:

Education: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably in a customer-facing environment.Skiing or Snowboarding: Ability to ski or snowboard to on-mountain locationsWorking Days: Ability to work weekends and holidays based on the resort operating hoursTechnical Skills:Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac OS operating systemsBasic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and administrationFamiliarity with networking concepts (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN)Experience with POS systems and hardware troubleshooting
 Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilitiesCommunication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staffCustomer Service: Ability to remain calm and provide excellent customer service in high-pressure situations.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transport IT equipment (up to 50 lbs), and work in varying weather conditions around the resort
