Oversees the daily operations of the Network, Infrastructure & Operations (NIO) – Local Area Network (LAN) team, ensuring that the COA Enterprise LAN runs efficiently and securely. You will manage and mentor IT staff members, coordinate with other departments to align technology with business needs, and lead projects that improve COA IT infrastructure. Additionally, the position is responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues, implementing IT policies, and staying updated on technological advancements to guide strategic decisions. Position will require on-site presence as needed, and on-call rotation.

By leveraging state-of-the-art tools, innovative methods, and strategic partnerships, we are at the center of shaping the City of Austin’s IT strategy.

This position has been designated as a Essential Employee. Essential Employees provide services that impact the public health, safety, utility services, and welfare of members of the Austin community and other employees and ensure the continuity of essential operations. In the event of a designated emergency, these positions will be called back or retained to assist with operations and recovery. Essential employee schedules will be modified based on extraordinary situations or emergency conditions and may be assigned to report to a designed work site. The designated work site will be a location of city-owned or City-leased space to which an employee would traditionally be assigned and report for work, if not teleworking.
