This is a temporary position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight (8) years and maybe made permanent without further competition. Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS): I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1. Administering and managing Portable Electronic Device programs; 2. Providing customer service, Information Technology support, and technical advice for problem resolution; 3. Providing clear and effective communication skills with customers and management; 4. Managing projects including preparing and coordinating purchase requests for basic information technology (IT) hardware, software, and services. The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing work independently that rarely requires editing or review by others. OR Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
