Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located in the Cybersecurity Division for the 7th Signal Command (SC), Theater (T) at the Fort Eisenhower in Georgia. Responsibilities Provide direct support to the P-ISSM on issues and tasks related to IT security/Cybersecurity and the associated administration, development, and revision of, policy, plans, and programs. Responsible for management, technical operation, performance monitoring and management, analysis, and operations for Cybersecurity support provided to the three Brigades (BDEs). Maintain a close and collaborative working relationship between the Command, ADOC, Regional Cyber Center-CONUS (RCC-CONUS), and BDE Cybersecurity personnel Provide network-oriented Cybersecurity technical review, validation, and oversight of proposed IT projects. Analyze requirements for Cybersecurity services and related support within the area of operations Conduct survey, evaluate, and reviews to determine the extent of Cybersecurity compliance. Recommend needed changes in policies, plans, and procedures. Represent the Command at symposiums, seminars, and conferences where Cybersecurity support and related matters are the topics of discussion. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by providing network-oriented security technical review, validation, and oversight of proposed IT projects; providing information technology support in relation to system security, risk management of systems and networks, or threat detection; and developing and reviewing information system security related policy, standard operating procedures, or other guidance for systems or organizations. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information If you are a current federal career/career-conditional employee, you will be placed on an excepted appointment. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program dated 15 February 2023. This is an Information Assurance position. It is DoD policy (DoDD 8140) that the Cybersecurity workforce knowledge and skills be verified through standard certification testing. Consequently, Army Cybersecurity personnel must have and maintain Information Technology (IT)/Cybersecurity certifications appropriate for the technical and/or managerial requirements of their position to remain in the position. This will include passing one or more Cybersecurity certification exams and applicable Computing Environment (CE) certification exams for all personnel with privileged level access.
