Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an IT Software Application Developer to join the Lighting Sector Finelite Team in Union City, CA. The IT Software Application Developer will solve complex technical and business problems and support/develop in-house applications under the supervision of the Manager of IT Application Development. This role will conduct information systems analysis, development, and routine maintenance to keep systems functioning optimally and current with changing technologies.
This position also ensures resulting designs are documented and supportable by the team, works with cross functional teams and members in solving business problems, and may provide leadership on change initiatives resulting from business solutions. This role is also expected to provide user support in a Windows environment, which includes client/server applications, desktops, and a mobile workforce that depends on access to critical business applications. The successful candidate will have ERP experience in a manufacturing environment and the willingness to learn and understand key enterprise technologies.
What Will You Do?
Develop in-house applications designed explicitly for Finelite. Follows good programming practices and standards.Confirms project requirements by reviewing program objectives, input data, and output requirements with supervisor and clients.Confirms program operation by conducting tests and modifying program sequence, user interfaces, or code to correct any problems with the programming.Understands connections between business functions and technology. Writes reports, queries, and complex logic. Able to keep the short and intermediate solutions in line with the longer-range system design and plans. Trains and instructs staff on using hardware and software and supports new product deployments.Perform revision or repair of existing programs to improve performance or adapt to new requirements.Provide updates, status, and completion information to the manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users via voicemail, email, or in-person communication. Education
Bachelor of Science in information technology, computer science, or related field.Experience:
Experience developing user interfaces and reports with Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, and Power BI. Expert knowledge of Visual Basic, T-SQL, and other programming languages.High expertise and experience in systems design, programming, programming standards, documentation, change control, and data structures/database design systems integration and coding. Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with expertise in core functional business areas such as manufacturing, finance, distribution/logistics, materials procurement, order fulfillment, and product configuration (as applicable). Previous experience in a liaison role between IT and one or more of the following business groups: finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Engineering, Service, or quality.Comfortable thinking outside the box and creating solutions to problems.Special Job Requirements:
