What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking an IT Project Manager who has experience successfully leading one or more software development projects for the Federal Government using agile practices. This individual will be responsible for leading multiple software development/technical teams and projects, responsible for all aspects of the application including development and production support.

Responsibilities include:

Oversees all aspects of assigned projects and the software application development life cycle.

Develop and manage all aspects of project and project engagement from planning, communications, resources, change, risks, and issues.

Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.

Prepare project schedules, establishes deadlines, assigns tasks and responsibilities, allocates resources, and monitors and summarizes the progress of projects in an iterative methodology environment.

Prepare project management plans and documentation as appropriate.

Prepare estimates and detailed project/sprint plans.

Ensure all project activities are coordinated with government stakeholders through completion.

Build and maintain working relationships with team members, other teams and organizations, contractors, vendors, and others.

Prepare and analyze status reports and metrics for upper management and prepare sprint reports as needed.

Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.

Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities.

Act as an internal quality control check for the project.


What You Will Need:

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust

Bachelor's Degree

FIVE (5) or more years of experience supporting technology projects.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)

Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification

Certified Scrum Master

Experience managing multiple software development projects for the Federal Government.

Experience working in environmental, planning, or historic preservation fields

Exhibits leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience.

Possesses knowledge and expertise in the use of various delivery methodologies and has a clear understanding of change management techniques.

Experience in project management disciplines including organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks, building a functional team from scratch, and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.

The ability to remove blockers that are impeding the team and customer success.

Possesses leadership capabilities, team-centric skills, and strong solution orientation.

Seeks first to understand and then improve processes, relationships, and our software deliverables.

Good balance of urgency with long-term sustainability.

Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity, poise, maturity, and precision both written and verbally, including in external customer-facing situations.

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills; balancing strategic alignment with the technology roadmap and emerging industry trends with practical delivery.

Experience with the following:

User story development

JIRA

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.

Solid understanding of Agile methodologies & frameworks (SAFe, Scum, Kanban). Experience with Agile software projects is a must.

Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.

Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

Excellent communication skills and strong customer service focus, delivering value to the business.

Takes ownership of the team and personal responsibilities.

Has keen attention to detail and be well-organized.

Has initiative, be a self-starter, and be able to balance multiple and shifting priorities and deadlines.

Willing to learn and adopt new skills.

Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation), and interpersonal skills.
