JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This role is responsible for directing a team of program and project managers across a portfolio of projects in the Power Delivery or Generation Services area. The manager oversees their work with the business functions, IT applications, technical leaders, project delivery staff and other key stakeholders to ensure delivery of IT related capital projects on time, on budget and to the committed value case. This position works collaboratively with the project and program managers, along with business partners to ensure the projects receive proper support and funding throughout the lifecycle of the project. The objective of this role is to ensure and maintain high standards of project delivery across the assigned portfolio and that the projects transition from deployment to steady state operations is managed successfully.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a centralized project delivery team that includes program managers and project managers Accountable for managing project and program managers during the execution and delivery of projects in the annual capital portfolio, aligned to the strategic IT roadmap, on-time, on-budget, and meeting customer expectations Align with IT leaders and senior staff to ensure projects are prioritized, resourced, and executed – during portfolio creation and as business needs change throughout the year Drive project execution discipline with project and program managers, including detailed resource management, identification and mitigation of risks and issues, and efficient use of project contingency dollars Ensure a customer-centric approach based on continuous improvement to deliver a solution that solves the business problem aligning scope and project activities to the business case Provide project delivery oversight; interfacing and enabling communications between the project team, site departments and management Ensure that RAID (risks, actions, issues, and decisions) items are identified, managed, and resolved to support project success across the assigned portfolio Act as facilitator for barrier/roadblock elimination Ensure concurrence from any applicable vendor partners to support the proposed schedule and resource requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required for the position
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or relevant technical experience MBA preferred
Minimum experience required for the position
7+ years of proven leadership delivering information technology projects and/or programs 5+ years managing project and/or program managers across a portfolio of projects
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong Leadership and organizational skills. Up to 25% travel required
Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position
