Role: DBA / Oracle Database Administrator (4 Positions)
Technology: Support the P2V of Oracle DBs, set up greenfield replication
Job Description:
The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the availability and overall health of the Database. The Oracle DBA will monitor reports, IO, CPU utilization, user accounts, and backup strategies. The position will require working closely with development teams to implement optimization strategies and best practices.
Responsibilities Include:
Experience working with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Enterprise Manager.Comfortable implementing as well as adhering to predefined standards and processes within the operational environment.Sound oral and written communication skills.Understands key performance characteristics of an Oracle Database and how to tune them when issues exist.Sound understanding of Oracle backup and restore procedures, including RMAN, basic storage replication and how to implement the necessary monitoring.Ability to open, work and manage tickets with Oracle Support ServicesExperience working in a highly available enterprise environment which operates 24 x 7Qualifications Include:
Experience with the most current versions of Oracle (10g, 11 and 12c).3-7 years’ experience in managing Oracle databases as an administratorExperience in Oracle RAC/ASM managementDefining and creating database tables, schemas, indexes, normalizing database designMonitoring database health, including I/O and CPU utilizationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related discipline required.Strong background and knowledge of SQL and relational databases.Must be able to work in a 24x7 schedule (one week out of every month you are on call off-hours and weekends).Ability to manage competing deadlines, manage variances in schedules and resources.Prior experience in a PCI environment or the Payment Industry preferred.Strong communication, customer service, organizational skills, and strong troubleshooting skills are a must.Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, good customer interaction skills are desired.
