IT Lead PMO Analyst

Who we want:
Lead PMO Analyst participates in the achievement of the PMO's objectives through portfolio and financial data analysis, metrics, and trending. They are responsible for effective portfolio management practices, tools, and analysis within a large, high-complexity portfolio, including business-facing activities. This individual will work in coordination with the portfolio owner(s) and relevant stakeholders to maintain and manage the financial portfolio, ensuring accurate tracking and delivery within all financial measures and portfolio constraints. This position monitors and provides direct support to project and program teams across the portfolio to ensure initiatives are managed and delivered with a level of rigor and discipline that complies with Global IT and Finance standards.

What you will do:

Technical Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking of financial projections across the portfolio leveraging approved financial management practices, processes, and tools

Rely on data to accurately report financial performance that can inform action and decision-making

Track and reconcile actual financial outcomes against projections to inform go-forward forecast refinement

Identify & mitigate all projected risks against portfolio constraints with relevant build and project resources

Ensure the portfolio resource plan is aligned to inform portfolio forecast/capitalization projections

Oversee and administer ongoing portfolio balancing to ensure the pipeline is properly funded and resourced with respect for portfolio constraints

Manage financials of our initiatives, including forecasted spend for demand, projects and programs. Cost management will extend the lifecycle of the initiative and include tracking of forecasted, projected and actuals for internal resource time and external spend.

Manage external spend, in partnership with a project manager, contract owner and supplier. This includes tracking of spend to milestones, invoice receipt and recognition and spend reconciliation.

Report on timely allocation of required resources and communicate potential resourcing issues that may impact scheduled deadlines.

Report progress of the portfolio to management with specific emphasis on business objectives delivery, efficient resource deployment, effective risk and issue management, portfolio volatility with respect to scope and quality changes, and process improvements.

Contribute to the annual planning and budgetary process for the function.

Actively work with portfolio and project managers to plan for or resolve staffing fluctuations.

Identify improvement opportunities and recommend strategic steps to capitalize on opportunities that will have a significant effect on profit and/or operational effectiveness for the organization.

Monitor portfolio health and financial status against relevant constraints, including: Strategic investment guidance, Portfolio budgets, BCFM/Project budgets, Contracts, and Operating budgets.  Guide and support project teams to mitigate any risks or issues that are identified.

Partner with Finance, Project Teams, and Budget owners to ensure all financial cadences (e.g. Quarterly budgeting cycles, month-end closings, etc…) are supported by and aligned to portfolio financials

Identify and evangelize process improvement opportunities for portfolio, financial and project management

Establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external PMO cross functional stakeholders

Produce regular metrics using dashboards and metrics to measure success

Contributes data analysis expertise for short- and long-term strategic planning process activities

Professional experience in a PMO or financial analyst role is required

Hands-on experience in project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting.

Experience in managing budget mechanics and processes in an information technology environment

Ability to analyze and explain the risks involved in using, or not using, solutions to business or organizational problems.

Ability to promote innovative ideas and accept the risks that are required to lead change

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or other information management systems required

Strong attention to detail and organization skills required

Ability to multi-task with frequently changing priorities

Excellent communication skills required

Education Requirements

BS or equivalent & 4+ years of work experience

CAPM or equivalent

Yellow Belt Certification or actively pursuing certification

Travel Percentage: 10%
