Detailed Job Description:

Min 4 to 5 years of experience in MariaDB management & administration Familiarity with other databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL will be an added advantage Understanding of MySQL s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM Experience setting up Master-Slave replication, Multi-Master replication, backup, point in time recovery, high available configurations and disaster recovery in a complex and dynamic production environment Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL or MariaDB Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements Troubleshooting database issue and performance tuning Maintain database high availability and ensure all production database work properly Review release notes and upgrade or patch database software based on maintenance schedules Knowledge of limitations in MySQL/MariaDB and their workarounds Basic knowledge of Linux operating system (RedHat) and basic commands Proficient writing Linux shell scripts for maintenance and automation purposes will be an added advantage Strong communication skills and ability to add recommendations on architecture/design decisions that will ensure optimal application performance with MySQL/MariaDB
