IT Internal Audit Manager – SOX Program Leader

Location: Hybrid in Pittsburgh, PA
Industry: Publicly traded global company; coatings/specialty materials
Reports to: IT Associate Audit Director

We’re seeking a motivated IT Internal Audit Manager with strong, recent Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) experience to lead our global IT SOX program. This is a highly visible role responsible for owning the planning, execution, and reporting of our ITGC and application controls testing framework.

If you have a solid foundation in IT audit, have worked hands-on with SOX in the last few years, and enjoy cross-functional collaboration with IT, finance, and external auditors — this could be your next leadership move.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage the IT SOX program, including annual planning, risk assessment, testing execution, and reporting.Supervise and mentor a team of testers; review workpapers and ensure all findings are supported and clearly documented.Ensure remediation plans for control deficiencies are well-defined, executed, and re-tested by year-end.Maintain strong relationships with external auditors and coordinate walkthroughs, evidence collection, and responses to findings.Provide expert guidance to IT control owners and business partners on SOX compliance and internal control expectations.Monitor and report the status of ITGC/SOX testing to senior leadership, identifying trends and areas of concern.Stay current on regulatory requirements, IT frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO), and emerging technologies.

What You Bring

5+ years of IT audit experience, including at least 3 years of recent hands-on SOX compliance work (ITGC and application controls).Experience in a public company or a public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred).Strong technical understanding of IT systems, financial applications, user access controls, and change management processes.Bachelor’s degree in IT, Accounting, Finance, or related field.CISA, CPA, or CIA certification preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and external auditors.
