Primary Position Purpose:
Under direct supervision, the IT Infrastructure Intern assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for monitoring, research, assessment, and analysis. In addition, this role will work with other technical support groups and assist to monitor, maintain, and implement computer networks.
Position Functions:
· Ensure all work orders are followed-up and completed in timely fashion
· Identify problems as they occur and ensure proper steps are taken to resolve those problems
· Provide technical support on-site or via remote-access systems
· Assist other departments within the infrastructure group, as needed
· As needed:
o Monitor and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes
o Document detailed network specifications, including diagrams, charts, equipment configurations, and recommended technologies
o Maintain network-related documentation
o Assist in the design or implementation of network solutions
o Develop conceptual, logical, or physical network designs
o Evaluate network design to determine if requirements are met efficiently and effectively
o Maintain recovery plans
o Determine specific network hardware or software requirements, such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas
