ROLE Description
This Senior PP (Production Planning & Execution) Business System Analyst is responsible for all aspects of our SAP PP application, including (and not limited to) fully understanding the capabilities and limitations of the native SAP functional solution as well as providing module configuration and analysis support. This position will work closely with business subject matter experts as well as others within the SAP Center of Excellence to ensure strong alignment between the business requirements/needs and the application solutions/services. Candidate role is responsible for developing and delivering effective PP (planning & manufacturing) specific solutions for our business which leverages SAP and industry standard best practices. Must be results driven who can communicate well cross functionally and deliver results in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, validate, and document business requirement from product experts at business units. Efforts include interviewing experts and facilitating requirements workshops; ability to translate those requirements into a sustainable SAP process.
Provide SAP configuration expertise for all PP related functionality to support the Production Planning & Execution business processes. Expertise in Discrete Manufacturing and Repetitive Manufacturing production methods.
Provide SAP configuration and support to the currently deployed planning strategies of Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, Configure-to-Order and Assemble-to-Order which requires a good understanding of the planning strategies.
Provide SAP configuration expertise in WM (Warehouse Management) related functionality to support the Production Planning & Execution business processes and other Inventory Management related business processes.
Assist team members and business users with problem solving related to the software application, performance and usage; lead support effort to ensure business operations are not interrupted or delayed
Provide functional specifications for enhancements, interfaces, forms, and reports to support PP business requirements and/or legacy applications. Assist other team members to complete specifications with all aspects of PP integration
Thorough cycle testing; unit testing, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
Ability to ensure strong alignment between the business requirements/needs and the application solutions/services.
Strong functional, communication and organization skills, with a proven ability to effectively meet deadlines and milestones as well as provide timely updates
Deep functional knowledge of data, processes, and integration points with other SAP modules, SAP and industry standard best practices. Ability to ensure strong alignment between the business requirements/needs and the application solutions/services
Facilitate business process and master data redesign ensuring alignment with SAP best practices
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree or equivalent
A functional/technical professional with at least four full lifecycle SAP R/3 or S/4 Hana implementation and 6+ years of industry and/or consulting experience
Minimum 7 years’ experience in SAP PP hands-on configuration and implementation/support
Minimum 4 years’ experience in SAP PP - WM integration hands-on configuration and implementation/support
Current SAP ECC 6.0 PP knowledge and experience
Knowledge of Integration with other SAP modules (MM/SD/FI/CO/BW/VC)
Proven ability to provide configuration and analysis support for the PP module with complete understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the native SAP functional solution.
Excellent problem identifying and solving aptitude with strong configuration and design skills with acute attention to detail.
Proven capability to influence business teams by understanding requirements and describing the standard SAP business processes
Able to collaborate with business users; identify engagement, follow–on opportunities, and have a strong desire to excel.
Experience defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
Adept at implementing technology–enabled business solutions as part of a high talent SAP COE team.
