IT DevOps Engineer
**Company:** Qualcomm Incorporated **Job Area:** Information Technology Group, Information Technology Group > IT Engineering **General Summary:** + Qualcomm is seeking a DevOps engineer to work in the Software Engineering IT team. This position will be part of a Global Engineering IT organization managing SW Build and Release applications and services. + Ideal candidate will have strong hands on Devops experience in the Software Build domain in a large-scale enterprise environment. + Primary areas of contribution would be designing, implementing and operationalizing applications in the Build and Release domains in a highly complex engineering environment. + This position is for a DevOps engineer who will be working on Build services under guidance of the Product Owner. **Minimum Qualifications:** • 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree. OR 5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree. Physical Requirements: • Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs. **This position will be responsible for:** + Building and supporting a highly complex distributed CI/CD and Artifact Management solutions used by Qualcomm Software Engineering organization + Integrating various tools in the DevOps toolchain to accelerate Engineering team's velocity while maintaining high standards for quality and consistency. + Contributing to 24x7 Operations **Solid understanding and experience with the following are required:** + 2+ years’ experience designing and implementing modern CI/CD tools and solutions (Jenkins, open source and modernized CI/CD tools…) in a large-scale environment with large user base + Strong knowledge and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, workflows in one or more modern CI/CD tools. + Experience with integration of Devsecops tools and solutions and enabling analytics to measure release efficiency (DORA etc) + Experience supporting one or more binary artifact management solutions (Artifactory, Maven) + 2+ years’ experience working as Devops lead managing critical applications + Strong experience managing and supporting globally distributed large build compute farms + Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring and alerting solutions (Datadog,..) + Experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, GCP…) including managing/supporting software builds in the cloud + Strong experience in application and infrastructure automation using one or more configuration Management tools (Chef, Ansible etc.) + ITIL experience in Change, Incident and Problem management + Good understanding of the build and release process in the semiconductor industry is a plus + Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting to leadership + Strong experience in one or more *NIX as admin or power users + Strong interpersonal skills are required to work with globally distributed teams + Exceptional ability to drive tasks and deliver on time is a must to be successful in this role **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master's degree in Computer Science. 1+ years IT-relevant work experience **Level of Responsibility:** • Working under some supervision. • Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct. • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. • Most tasks require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework. • Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required. • Exercising creativity to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines. **Applicants** : Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
