HOW AN IT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL - SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Responsible for the most complex testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities including: power, software, communications devices, lines, modems and terminals. Monitors and controls the performance and status of the network resources. May function in a lead capacity within the department. Provides guidance and direction for less experienced personnel.Understands basic Cisco router/switch commands and can program initial network gear setups.Must be able to work independently and with other IT teams (networks, systems, cyber, etc.) without supervision.Must be able to travel on short notice when required.Must understand Desktop system troubleshooting and imaging techniques. Conducts hardware infrastructure site surveys, planning, and designMakes recommendations on hardware, cabling, and equipment requirementsProvides installation management to include creating list of materials, bills of materials, estimating installation project timelines, determining installation team requirements, successfully executing installation projects, and documenting project statusPlans, builds, and installs cable patch panels and cable infrastructuresInstalls and terminates all types of standard IT cable and fiberProvides equipment rack installation and equipment installations within a variety of locations that includes, but is not limited to, data centers, equipment rooms, communications closets, operations centers, and user workspacesPerforms installs and terminations for all types of standard IT cable and fiberTroubleshoot and resolve issues with network infrastructure and/or componentsRecommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practicesWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experienceRequired Skillset:Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and supportComprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and softwareComprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applicationsSecurity Clearance Level: TS/SCIRequired Certification(s):DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contractIAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalentRequired Computing Environment (CE) certification: CCNA or equivalent Location: On Customer SiteAdditional:Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contractPosition may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activityTravel may be required to support the missionGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:
