Job Summary 

This position develops, interprets, and implements operational requirements for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program and has accountability for daily management, monitoring, and direction of RAC activities. This position provides financial data and analysis for internal and external reporting, ensures the hospital is prepared for RAC audits, responds to audit requests, challenges questionable determinations, and files timely appeals.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Coordinates, initiates, monitors, and responds to all audit requests/demands. Initiates and monitors the appeal processes in a timely manner. Reviewing records for payor, RAC, regulatory denials/appeals, and downgrades by providing in depth coding review, audit findings and appeal strategies to the System Coding Leadership. Performs research, gathers financial data, and conducts focused audits on Medicare and Medicaid billing to analyze, summarize, prepare reports, and make recommendations. Coordinates with facility subject matter experts when necessary. Uses data or maintains database to track information including but not limited to trends regarding Medicare and Medicaid billing practice both within and outside of the hospital. Manages internal and external billing audit communications for all audit-related correspondence. Continuously evaluates and improves processes in preparation for audit requests and in response to audit findings. Assists interdisciplinary teams in identifying and prioritizing areas of process improvement and develop/implement processes and tools to mitigate risk.

The position of Assets Management Engineer reports to the IT Director of Operations and works with Lead Asset Management Engineer and is responsible for managing all IT hardware, computers, mobile devices, printers, invoice, vendor management, ordering hardware and all asset related issues.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Help review new hardware technology to be used for our company environment. Help with leasing, maintenance costs, and service agreements. Maintain, expand, and oversee overall asset management and processes. Work and collaborate with the IT team, Finance, and Operations to leverage asset management data for developing replacement programs. Help with preparation and maintenance of asset management plans, including lists, identifying asset inventory and condition, determining asset net present value and life cycle costs, and developing alternatives for cost-effective operations and maintenance. Support condition assessment of existing assets and improve and enhance capital improvement planning and budgeting. Responsible for monitoring and communicating Asset Performance through reporting including life cycle analysis, asset performance, and analysis. Responsible for preparing reports, estimating costs, and determining individual project needs. Managing Asset tickets and ticket queue Perform regular audits for various assets-related subjects to ensure reduction of financial loss. Visit covered facilities for project data gathering, onsite support, and asset replacements as needed. Help manage hardware lifecycles, repairs, and maintenance. Vendor management – Working directly with 3 party vendor to keep prices low and ensure corporate service and support is available when needed. Manage all IT hardware including computers, mobile devices, printers, and IT accessories. Provide hardware repair and software support for devices returned to IT Assets department based on Service Desk need. Facilitate configuration of new devices prior to deployment in the environment. Implementing asset management plans to ensure asset lifecycle is planned, managed, and controlled. Manage all ticketing queues (incidents/request/tasks), and ensure onsite support is managed at the appropriate levels. Train IT team members on assets processes and services. Providing swift and effective handling of complex issues. Travel to remote sites as needed (20% - 40%) Discuss and plan with the lead to do due diligence when addressing asset requests to avoid unnecessary financial and labor expenditures.

Requirements and Qualifications

1 to 3 years experience in an assets role.  Some experience can be substituted for an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field. Valid driver’s license. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Demonstrates the capability to solve unique and complex problems by applying critical thinking. Ability to adapt to change quickly and easily, showing willingness to learn new technologies and skills. Possesses a leadership style that seeks to share information and welcome input into the problem-solving and decision-making processes. A self-driven, reliable, well-organized person, able to manage and complete tasks with a sense of urgency and care within demanding timelines. Experience with Fresh Service software/ application. Experience with IT hardware implementation, imaging, and management. Experience with Microsoft, iOS, Android, Apple, and others. Relevant associate degree or higher
